After 40+ years of tuning skis and snowboards, we’ve come up with a few ideas for tools and accessories. 2020 marked the start of bringing those to light.

Andy LaForge
Director of Development, Boardworks Gear Lab
Andy LaForge has spent more than 40 years in the ski industry, managing rental facilities and working as a lead technician mounting bindings. He knows what a busy shop can realistically do on a Saturday morning, and that practical view shapes everything Boardworks Gear Lab builds.
Andy is a member of ASTM Committee F27 on Snow and Water Sports, which writes the standards for ski binding testing, equipment and shop procedures. He belongs to three of its subcommittees: F27.10 Binding Test Procedures, F27.30 Skiing and Snowboarding Equipment, and F27.50 Shop Procedures (Retail and Rental).
He currently sits on the subcommittee reviewing ASTM F1063-22, which covers functional inspections and adjustments of alpine ski/binding/boot systems. Boardworks clients get inspections and audits that follow the standards as written today, from someone who knows where they are heading.
At Boardworks, Andy leads onsite ASTM F1064 audits and training for rental fleets in Alberta and British Columbia. He also leads development of F1064 Fleet inspection software and the Canadian-made Diamond Cut Ski Grinder and 400 mm UltraWide Diamond Grinder.
